Osaka Tenmangu(大阪天満宮)

This Shinto shrine is located in the busy Minami-morimachi neighborhood near Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Arcade. It venerates the Shinto god of learning, Sugawara no Michizane, and is a popular place for students praying to pass their exams. The annual Tenjin-matsuri Festival, held July 24-25, is one of Osaka's biggest festivals. Processions of parade floats and boats can be seen in the streets and waterways near the shrine. And the celebration ends in a night of fireworks!
