Watching the sunset over the city or, better yet, below the ocean horizon, is the perfect way to bid the sun sayonara at dusk. The impressive exterior and the feeling you get as you ride up to the tippy top of this 40-story building on the escalator is otherworldly!<br \/>\nAs you pass through the see-thru escalator tunnel, it\u2019s like your being transported onto a sci-fi movie set. And when you arrive on the observation deck, you\u2019re greeted with a 360\u00b0 open-air view where you can feel the wind while you take in the gorgeous scenery. The closest train station\u2014Shitennoji-mae Yuhigaoka\u2014is definitely a mouthful and the name includes that golden sounding <em>Yuhigaoka<\/em>, which means sunset hill.<br \/>\nYuhigaoka was once on the edge of the ocean and it was a place where people gathered to watch the sunset over the horizon. Fast-forward to the present and the ocean has receded far enough that you can no longer see it, but it is still a beautiful place to watch the sun cast its final rays over the city.<br \/>\nThe neighborhood is full of romantic charms like the many temples and stone walkways. It\u2019s a place of deep history where you can sink deep into time. If you head up to the observation deck of <a href=\"https:\/\/maido-bob.osaka\/en\/spot\/sakishima-cosmo-tower-observatory\/\">Cosmo Tower<\/a>, you can take in a sweeping 360\u00b0 panoramic view featuring a close look at Osaka Bay. And of course it\u2019s stunning at dusk!<\/p>\n<p>Just a 10-minute walk from <a href=\"https:\/\/maido-bob.osaka\/en\/spot\/kaiyukan\/\">Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/maido-bob.osaka\/en\/spot\/tempozan-giant-ferris-wheel\/\">Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel<\/a>, this sunset spot is named <a href=\"https:\/\/maido-bob.osaka\/en\/spot\/osaka-port-diamond-point\/\">Diamond Point<\/a> for a reason. The sunlight glistens on the surface of the ocean all day long. The sound of wind in the air, the coming and going of ships along the water, and the passing of clouds overhead can pull you into a trance. <\/p>\n<p>The sunset is so gorgeous, there is a <a href=\"https:\/\/maido-bob.osaka\/en\/spot\/osaka-portsunset-restaurant\/\">pop-up restaurant<\/a> during the time of year when the most impressive. Apparently, they are unique in the world, and only found in Osaka. And the sun sets through the middle of the arch when you look through the Aji River Floodgate, It\u2019s absolutely stunning and this scenery is destined to change. You can watch planes taking off and landing juxtaposed against the sunset. This unique scenery is visible from the bank of the Senri River.
