So you are probably familiar with that wonderful series of guides to different cities known as Time Out<\/em>. This local guidebook created in London, eventually grew to cover over 100 cities worldwide. Time Out Market is a collection of gourmet spots selected by the editors of the Time Out magazines.
\nAnd since the editors clearly have a discerning eye for good food, you can expect the food at Time Out Market to be spot on.
\nSo let me show you what\u2019s inside this new spot at Grand Green Osaka\u2019s South Building. <\/p>\nVibes Like a Secret Underground Club<\/h2>\n
Time Out Market opened inside the basement floor of Grand Green Osaka\u2019s South Building.
\nIt is directly connected to JR Osaka Station via the Umekita underground passage. This time I took a different route and went straight from Umekita Park.
\nBecause I used a set of outdoor stairs to get down to the basement level, it felt a bit like entering a secret underground club. <\/p>\n

Going Beyond the Food court Model, This is a Food Market!<\/h2>\n
Recently I\u2019ve seen a lot of stylish food courts, but this one tops them all! It\u2019s huge, with 800 seats!
\nThe relaxing background music and tasteful lighting, sleek design, bar counter, and the giant monitor playing various scenes gives the space a stylish look that had me thinking \u201cAm I still in Osaka?\u201d
\nIf you\u2019ve ever been in a food court before and felt you couldn\u2019t relax, this is the place for you. You\u2019ll love it here!<\/p>\n

There are 17 different kitchens and 2 bars waiting on hand to take your order. And the whole place is designed with such a unified look, you really have to look at the signs to see which restaurant is where.
\nThere are no flashy signs for any of the counters, they each have the same type of lettering above the counter. So you may not even notice some of the famous restaurant names in the line-up when you look at them. But that doesn\u2019t mean they\u2019re hard to find.
\nEach establishment has a QR code so you can access the menu in English.<\/p>\n
Visit Famous Restaurants without Reservations or a Long Wait<\/h2>\n
With everything from udon and sushi to yakitori, kushikatsu, and curry\u2014they have everything! Out of all the options, I chose a ramen shop that I\u2019ve always wanted try, but haven\u2019t because the location in the middle of the city always has a long line. The shop is called \u2018Tori Soba Zagin\u2019 and they have a new brand called \u2018Zagin Diversity.\u2019 \u2018Zagin\u2019 is famous for its chicken paitan<\/em> (rich, white chicken broth) ramen.<\/p>\nApparently, they also offer mobile ordering, but they still follow the classic food court style: you get a buzzer, and when it goes off, you go pick up your order.
\nI ordered the beef bone paitan ramen, priced at 1,500 yen. Honestly speaking, that\u2019s a price range I\u2019ve never ventured into for ramen before (lol).
\nAnd for toppings? Deep-fried burdock root curls\u2014giving it a bold look!<\/p>\n

The creamy white paitan broth has a rich and full-body, and the roasted beef gives the dish a subtle elegance. The meat was tender and pairs perfectly with the soup.
\nThe noodles go down smooth and were so easy to eat. Before I knew it, I\u2019d finished the whole bowl! Honestly, I think this dish has opened a new realm of dining, going beyond your simple bowl of ramen. <\/p>\n
Their concept here is to embrace diversity, so they also offer a vegan soy sauce soba made without any animal products.<\/p>\n
Epic Collab Desserts<\/h2>\n
For dessert, I chose a place with a long name: JULIAN\u2661SUCR\u00c9\u2661ACID. If you’re from Osaka, that name probably rings a bell, right?
\nIt\u2019s combination of three well-known shops in Osaka, each with its own specialty Julian Ice Cream, Le Sucr\u00e9-C\u0153ur (a bakery), and Acid Racines (a patisserie).
\nIt\u2019s their first-ever collaboration and it\u2019s definitely something you don\u2019t want to miss.
\nYou can enjoy a mix of three of Osaka\u2019s finest sweets all on one dish. It is superbly luxurious!
\nSince it was my first time trying Julian, I went with a triple-scoop ice cream sampler. But the menu is full of tempting choices that make the most of this new collaboration, like pudding \u00e0 la mode or buttered toast paired with ice cream.<\/p>\n
