Although wild monkeys were once a common sight near the waterfall, it is unlikely you will encounter any on your way up to the falls today. But you will see plenty of nature, fish and crabs in river and songbirds in the beautiful seasonal foliage.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nThere is also an <a href=\"https:\/\/maido-bob.osaka\/spot\/minoh_insect_museum\/\" title=\"Minoh Insect Museum (\u7b95\u9762\u6606\u866b\u9928)\">insect museum<\/a> for bug enthusiasts that features live and displayed specimens as well as a butterfly room. You will also pass a picturesque mountain temple, Ryuanji Temple (aka Minoh Temple)\u2014fabled to have been established by the founder of Shugendo (En-no-gyoja)\u2014as you hike up to the waterfall from Hankyu Minoh Station.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nAlthough you may park near the falls, most visitors choose to hike the almost 3 km <em>Taki-michi<\/em> trail from Minoh Station. It is an easy 1 hour hike and you&#8217;ll want to try some of the regional specialty Momiji Tempura snacks that are sold near the entrance to the trail and in shops near the falls.
