Where to meet at Osaka Station
Konnichiwa! Yuka here.
Do you know where to meet your friends and family when you come to Osaka Station?
There are actually a few famous rendezvous points around the Umeda area. Let me show you my favorites, in case you need to meet someone in the Osaka Station area some day.
1. This is the famous meeting point known as “BIGMAN”. You’ll see this giant monitor when you come down the steps of Hankyu Osaka-Umeda Station from the 2nd floor ticket gate. People usually congregate in the open space in front of the monitor to wait for friends.
2. Carillon Plaza is located on a 2nd floor walkway connecting Hankyu Osaka-Umeda Station and JR Osaka Station. The carillon clock-tower is eye-catching and if you time it right, you can hear the bells ringing.
Also, there are street performances on Thursday and Friday evenings at 17:00.
3. My favorite place to meet friends and family in JR Osaka Station has to be the water clock. It’s just beside the South Central Gate. The Toki-no-hiroba Plaza on the 5th floor of this station is another popular meeting place, but I personally like the clock. Of course being a clock it tells the time and it has pretty illustrations made of water that change with the seasons.
It welcomes visitors in multiple languages too♡
Any guide to rendezvous points near Osaka Station isn’t complete without mentioning Izumi no Hiroba. But, let’s save that one for another time.
If you have any favorite rendezvous points, please share them with us!
