MYAKU-MYAKU to Visit France, Taiwan and Hong Kong ―Global Promotion in the Run-up to the Opening of Expo―

The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition (hereafter referred to as “the Association”) will promote Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”) at the 23rd Japan Expo (Paris, France, 11-14 July 2024), the 10th Anniversary Touch the Japan Special (Taiwan, 12-15 July 2024) and the 34th Hong Kong Book Fair (Hong Kong, 17-23 July 2024).

A PR booth will be set up to promote the attractions of the Expo and the official character MYAKU-MYAKU will appear at the venue for a meet-and-greet with visitors. This will be MYAKU-MYAKU’s first visits to Taiwan and Hong Kong and its third time visiting France. With less than 300 days to go before opening, MYAKU-MYAKU will be actively promoting the attractions of Expo 2025 overseas to build momentum.

We will present Expo related goods to the visitors at the booth!

The Japan Expo is a celebration of Japanese culture and world entertainment. It is held at the Nord Villepinte in Paris, and is the largest* Japanese culture event in France. Last year, the event attracted more than 250,000 visitors, its largest attendance to date.

Event overview:

The event is organised by The International Tourism & Culture Promotion Organisation (ITCO) and is officially recognised by the Travel Quality Assurance Association, one of the largest semi-private travel trade associations in Taiwan. It has attracted more than 250,000 visitors every year. In 2019, the year before the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of visitors reached just over 270,000 over four days. The Taipei “10th Anniversary Touch the Japan Special” is an event to promote Japanese culture and tourism to Japan for general consumers and to disseminate information on tourism and Japanese culture under the themes of “Thank you, Taiwan” for the support of Taiwanese citizens for the Noto Earthquake and “Hang in there, Hualien County” as a message of support for the Hualien County Earthquake in Taiwan.

2. 34th Hong Kong Book Fair – Hong Kong

Event overview:

The Hong Kong Book Fair is the largest B-to-C event in Hong Kong with over 1 million visitors. It attracts over 760 exhibitors from various countries and regions. The first Hong Kong Book Fair was held in 1990. The organiser, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), is committed to promoting Hong Kong’s reading culture and the Book Fair not only focuses on book sales but also on organising various cultural activities.
