Grand Front Osaka—Terrace Garden with Park Views
First, let me show you the Terrace Garden on the 9th floor of Grand Front Osaka’s North Building.
To get there, head outside from the 7th-floor exit and take the stairs up to the 9th floor. The area is relatively quiet, and nicely landscaped with green creating a calming atmosphere.
There are benches placed throughout the garden, so you’ll be able to find a spot you like. To the east, you can see the HEP Five Ferris Wheel, and to the west, there are views of the newly opened Umekita Park and Umeda Sky Building.
There is also a terrace garden on the 9th floor of the South Building—so be sure to check that one out too!

There’s a Farm on Top of Lucua Osaka?!
Next, let’s look at Lucua Osaka, part of Osaka Station City, considered an urban oasis in Osaka because of its abundant greenery.
It features several garden areas, including:
• Yawaragi-no-niwa Garden on the 10th floor
• Kaze-no-hiroba Plaza on the 11th floor
• Tenku-no-nōen on the 14th floor
The Kaze-no-hiroba Plaza on the 11th floor is near a movie theater and lots of restaurants, plus it’s easy to get to from the station. However it can seem crowded at times. But if you head up to the Tenku-no-noen Farm on the 14th floor, which can only be reached by stairs, you’ll find plenty of empty benches and tables with fewer people around.
There are signs posted cautioning about heatstroke in summer and the lack of restrooms and vending machines on the terrace, so be prepared before heading up. It’s amazing how going up just a few more floors offers a completely different view—definitely worth a visit if you have the energy!

Enjoy the Night View from Daimaru Umeda’s Rooftop Plaza
Our next stop is Daimaru Umeda, located within Osaka Station City.
Between the 15th and 17th floors, you’ll find a wooden deck area called Taiyo-no-hiroba, which means “Sun Plaza.” This stunning outdoor area incorporates elements of a Spanish-style courtyard.
The inside area has no windows, so when you step outside into the open area it feels pleasantly refreshing. This spot isn’t too crowded either, which makes it a great place to relax.
Best of all, it’s open until 11:00 PM, so you can enjoy beautiful views of the city at night.
And, while not a terrace per se, on the 16th floor of Daimaru Umeda, there is a gourmet floor called Ichiroku Gourmet, which has lots of benches and tables. This would be a good spot to sit down if you need a quiet place to use your laptop.

Hours: 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Address: 3-1-1 Umeda, Kita-ku, Osaka (South Gate Building 15F–17F)

Hankyu Umeda’s Rooftop Plaza with an Inari Shrine
Hankyu Umeda Main Store is one of Osaka’s biggest department stores and its especially popular for the special events they host.
Head up to the rooftop plaza on the 13th floor if you ever want a break from the crowds. In summer, the plaza is transformed into a rooftop beer garden. And since you’re allowed to bring your own food up to the plaza, it’s a great place to enjoy a leisurely meal al fresco with take-out foods bought from the department store basement or sweets you may have picked up at one of the special events.
In one corner, there is a shrine to Inari Daimyojin—it’s a great place to get a blessing!
This shrine houses a spirit divided from the deity enshrined at Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto. When the department store underwent renovations in 2012, this section was reconstructed to allow the general public to visit the shrine and pay their respects.

Infinity Terrace with a Panoramic View of Midosuji
And finally, there’s one more spot I’d like to share, a sightseeing spot that’s a short distance from Umeda, near Yodoyabashi.
This brand-new spot opened in September 2024, on the 16th floor of Osaka Dojima Tower, home to Candeo Hotels Osaka The Tower. The terrace here is named WowUs, and it offers breathtaking, observation deck-level views—and the best part? It’s completely free and open to everyone!
(Part of me doesn’t want to share this yet undiscovered gem…)
From the south side, you can enjoy sweeping views of Midosuji. And since it’s open until 9 PM, you can even watch a beautiful sunset.
Plus because this is a sort of tourism information exchange hub, the terrace offers plenty of travel brochures so you can get ideas while you are here. And they hold events and workshops regularly as well.
It’s definitely worth taking a little detour to check it out!
●WowUs Wood Deck Terrace
Hours: 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Address: 16th Floor, Dojimahama Tower, 1-1-27 Dojimahama, Kita-ku, Osaka
Access: Approximately 4-minute walk from Yodoyabashi Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line
※ When using the public benches, please be mindful of proper etiquette so that everyone can enjoy the space comfortably.
