Sakuya Konohana Kan (咲くやこの花館)

special exhibit at sakuya konohana kan glasshouse, Osaka
The Sakuya Konohana Kan conservatory was built as a pavilion for the 1990 International Garden and Greenery Exposition. Today it is one of the largest conservatories in Japan, and houses plants from all over the world, including hibiscus, jade plants, tropical water lilies, and even corpse plants. The climate controlled zones allow visitors to see rare blue poppies in bloom year round, as well as carnivorous plants, cacti, and various tropical plants. Approximately 15,000 plants of 2,600 species can be seen on a visit to the gardens. Plus there are hands-on exhibits scattered throughout the glasshouses as well. The onsite restaurant serves light fare in a spacious dining area overlooking the outdoor water-lily pond.
