Shirokita Park, Iris Garden (城北菖蒲園)

Shirokita Park

Japanese irises in bloom at Shirokita Park Syoubuen filling the pond in shades of pink, purple, and white. A couple sits in a pagoda in the background.
Located inside Shirokita Park, this gorgeous garden comes alive with elegant irises in shades of white, purple, and magenta. Stroll along the pond full of flowers, or walk across the elevated footpath and spend time relaxing in the scenic pagoda. The garden features some 13,000 irises in 250 varieties. The flowers are best viewed in late May or early June. The park usually holds a fair during this season and you may see flower nurseries and pop-up food trucks among the vendors. Shirokita Park also has children's play equipment, hydrangea, cherry blossoms, and other seasonal flowers.
