Orix Buffaloes game at Kyocera Dome in Osaka
The home of the Orix Buffaloes, Kyocera Dome aka Osaka Dome opened in 1997 and has an unmistakeable appearance reminiscent of UFO imagery. The saucer-shaped building is accented by an interesting undulating ring that circles the exterior and the ceiling inside makes pretty concentric circles. It is worth visiting, even if it’s just to take in the architecture.
Stadium seating holds over 36,000 patrons during games and the capacity reaches 55,000 during special events. Big names like Queen, Bruno Mars, and BTS have played the stadium. And the annual Kansai Collection fashion show is held here too!
If you really want to see the stadium when no events are scheduled, you can book a tour of the inside, which includes a look at the bullpen, team benches, and more. The Dome also has the Orix Buffaloes official team store where you can pick up team souvenirs and the Star Diner, which can be booked for parties, even when games aren’t in session.
