Organic Building

Minami Semba

Organic Building facade, covered in plant pots protruding from red walls in Minami Semba
This 9-story building, located in Minami Semba, is absolutely stunning! The bright red exterior will catch your eye and the strategically placed plants will draw you in further. Plant pots protrude at regular intervals in rows and columns up the outer walls. Cactii, plam trees, all matter of agave—there is so much to look at!

The building was completed in 1993 under plans from Italian-born architect & designer Gaetano Pesce, who describes his guiding principle as "modernism is less a style than a method for interpreting the present and hinting at the future in which individuality is preserved and celebrated."

The building itself houses corporate offices and a handful of stores. And it is much-celebrated by architecture fans in Osaka and a fun place to visit on a walk in Minami Semba.
