Osaka City Central Public Hall (大阪市中央公会堂)

Nakanoshima

This elegant red brick building features Neo-Renaissance architecture and a beautiful dome-shaped bronze roof. It was built 1913–1918 with a large donation from a local businessman Einosuke Iwamoto who had been inspired by philanthropy in the United States.
Although the rooms are not normally open to the public, visitors may enter and take pictures in the hallways and Exhibition Room (basement floor) and the Main Entrance Hall (1st floor) when the Main Entrance is open.
There is also a classy restaurant on the basement floor which serves an extensive menu of course and a la carte dining for lunch, dinner, and dessert.
When you visit, be sure to stroll through nearby Nakanoshima Rose Garden.
