Shitennoji Temple: Cherry Blossoms (四天王寺)

Tennoji

One of Japan's oldest temples, Shitennoji was established under Prince Taishi in the 6 C. The impressive architecture and sprawling temple grounds are enhanced with the beauty of blossoming cherry trees in spring. Although the temple grounds are not suitable for a cherry tree picnic, it is still a beautiful place to enjoy the flowers while viewing historically significant architecture. Head to the Gorakujodo Garden of Paradise for tranquil landscapes and pretty cherry blossoms.
