Sukunahikona Jinja Shrine(少彦名神社)

Doshomachi

Located on Doshо̄machi Street, a neighborhood known as Osaka’s “medicine district” for its ancient apothecaries and modern-day pharmaceutical companies. Two deities, both affiliated with medicine and healing, are enshrined here, Sukunahikona---the Japanese deity of medicine---and Shinnо̄-san---an emperor in ancient China and the legendary founder of Chinese medicine. Shinno Festival is held here every winter (Nov. 22--23) and is considered an end to the year. You can purchase paper-mache tiger amulets to ward off illness and votive plaques specially designed for prayers related to your pets.
