Sad news for this Osaka icon
Sayonara blowfish!

Maido! Osaka Bob here. Today was a sad day in Osaka.

Everybody knows that iconic blowfish lantern that hung in front of Zuboraya. Many of you probably have photos of it with Tsutenkaku in the background.

Earlier this year, we heard the news that Zuboraya was closing and many people in Osaka, plus blowfish fans across the world were saddened. My friend Clara (a part of the Osaka Bob Family), wrote her opinion here Shinsekai’s iconic blowfish. Is this goodbye forever?

And although I didn’t want to say goodbye either, I had to go see it with my own eyes. And it really is gone!ふぐ看板撤去を知らせる新世界づぼらやの案内

Shocking, I know. Even the rickshaw drivers are surprised that they’ll never be able to take this photo again.
