Aoyama Building (青山ビル)

Kitahama

Built in 1921 as a private residence for local entrepreneur Genjiro Noda, who made his fortunes through his high-class restaurants and food import business. The building is now registered a National Tangible Cultural Property and houses a number of offices and establishments. The rear garden has a prized camphor tree that is the sibling to the sacred camphor tree at Sukunahiko Jinja Shrine. While parts of the building may be reserved for special events, the general public should get permission before entering the premises.
